To us it is, but not to a person that is from there. Like the video footage of him in the murky water is right because it's not from his point of view. Author looks fairly impressed by the city himself in a later segment in the trailer. I can only assume that was the first time he was seeing it? But he is of that world. I'm thinking that the only outsider that can see it like they would is someone like Superman.
Wait... Is this movie ignoring Justice League or is it wrapped around Justice League?
