I saw LAWRENCE OF ARABIA twice in 1962. After seeing it in the drive-in, my parents thought a trip to the real theater was needed, so I saw it again. I was only 8 years old and that was not a common experience for me. My parents took us to the drive-in every weekend because kids under 12 were free or it was $1.50 a car. Years later I saw the restored print at the Newport Beach Edwards Big Cinema on their massive screen.
Tried watching it a few weeks ago on FilmStruck, but it isn't the same on my iPad.😝
It is hard to pick a favorite Lean, but since I’m a girl, it would probably be BRIEF ENCOUNTER, but I also like BREAKING THE SOUND BARRIER.
