When you really stop to think about it, is there anyway of portraying Aquaman as anything other than a joke without getting accusations of overcompensating? Read "The Trench" The Trench at ComixologyI actually have read a fair amount of the New 52 Aquaman comics. They’re pretty much the entire reason why I don’t view Aquaman as a joke, since I had never read any of his prior comics. There still have been some accusations leveled against those comics regarding how they supposedly try too hard to make the character look like a badass, though. Then again, the New 52 in general doesn’t exactly have a great reputation, so that probably doesn’t help. |
