Yeah that pretty much gets to the heart of the matter. It's a half hour too long (a common Nolan issue). I caught this on television a while back expecting to hate it (since everyone else apparently does). It's fine, just a big homage to those slow paced sci-fi movies of the 60s and 70s. It's a wonder no one talks about TARS. Those robots were awesome.
