That is explained while she was a child. He resented that he left and as time went on and it looked less likely he would come back, it became ingrained. Basically, he lied to her and chose the mission over her. That would be fine and make sense however she grows up to become a physicist working for Dr Brand at NASA. She is in a perfect situation to understand all about the Lazarus mission and why her dad had to leave and wasnt sure when he was coming back (since she understood relativity by then). If she became an uneducated farmer like her brother, it would make sense why she'd still hate Cooper because she wont have been briefed on the mission. [/p]
Even if the planet had extreme time dilation, it was closest, it had a signal, and if they got in and out, based on Plan A, it could still be a planet that could be settled...Although unlikely to ever leave.
[/quote] Ye I can excuse the Miller planet. I guess its from a scientific point of view why Id have a problem with it. They should have known prior before they landed that the planet had giant tidal waves,but that does destroy the surprise and shock element.
