I'm so-so about birds. They're awfully good fried or roasted. And they can often be interesting, even beautiful creatures to observe - either in the wild or in captivity. But also they can be invasive pests that destroy crops or other foliage. I've had crows and other birds get on my roof and peck away, sometimes so loud it sounds like somebody's knocking at my door. A few times I've had woodpeckers latch onto gable vents on my house (they secure their claws onto the screen mesh) and proceed to start pecking the hell out of the nearby wood siding, causing some potentially serious damage if not stopped. To that end, I've had to rig up anti-bird netting to defeat them in those spots. And why is it that every time I wash one of my vehicles, the next day I notice a prominent splotch of fresh bird crap on it somewhere?
