The person that is in SW sequels is almost unrecognizable in his earlier movie:

I think he is terrible in The Force Awakens, but pretty good in TLJ. There is a dark humor to the way he plays it in the latter and he just became better at selling it in the that movie.

He is now typecast a lot as very uptight and unlikable characters, which is too bad.
