Being a humanist doesn't mean you let self harm occur because it's their choice.

By saying live and let live, you're just being dismissive of the potential of an actual problem.

If being a humanist doesn't mean that, then there's a problem with being a humanist, because there's a problem with forcing people to not make particular decisions for themselves just because you don't like them, you're uncomfortable with them, you'd not make them for yourself, etc.

People should be allowed to hurt themselves, or to do what you consider hurting themselves, if that's what they choose to do.
