First, there were rumors circling around him for years, and when somebody's story broke in the media Singer was no longer allowed to do press for DOFP and his executive produced primetime drama Black Box eliminated his name from any and all promotions going forward. Second, DOFP did not in any way make people forget about the accusation, and when it resurfaced last fall it was decided that Singer would not be credited for either The Gifted or Legion or any other X-Men related product going forward in whatever role he served.
And you missed my point. this was a classic case of When the art overruled the personal life. Woody Allen has been experiencing this for years now and still is.
Rumours have circled for years, usually that is enough to hurt people's career in film , music and even sports. 2014 was the time they could have nailed Singer , also the accusation should have sunk the ship that was DOFP but once DOFP was released and people saw how excellent it was , that took centre stage and the controversy was asap pushed aside.
You are right, he was no longer allowed to do press during DOFP but that did not harm the film one bit, it is a testament to how great DOFP was, not only did it destroy Winter Solider shine that came out 1 month earlier with mcu riding their first wave of serious grown up film, it protected Singer longer than it could have.
don't be mad, that winter solider was outclassed. it never stood a chance. Singer may be a paedophile but he was one hell of a film maker not perfect but very talented, and like Nolan, he brought intelligent and seriousness to comic films. something your mcu is failing at.
The movie is good but its not the masterpiece you make it out to be, and you can you hate on the MCU all you wish but it won't many any difference I'm afraid. And ignoring Singer's many accusations as a director he's not particularly unique or special. He is not particularly distinctive and honestly anybody else could've made any film he did and do just as good if not better a job. His episodes for House were anything but the best of its entire run, the pilot for Battle Creek did not deliver enough oomph to keep people coming back weeks after, and while Mockingbird Lane had its moments it wasn't considered strong enough to be picked up as a series - instead it aired as a Halloween special. He definitely does not deserve to be spoken of in the same breath as Nolan, Spielberg, Tarantino, or even Scott and Cameron.
