I love him dearly but since Supe is impervious to nearly everything, bravery has nothing to do with him. He does it because he has nothing to fear, really.
Not necessarily. As he learned with his Pa, Superman fears not being able to use his powers to save someone.
He also fears his powers themselves. He fears they'll either grow too powerful for him to control or that they'll make him so much more than human, he'll be less than human.
