Why isn't Venom part of the MCU?

Sony have their Spider-man who is a part of the MCU but then at the same time they're making a Venom movie and supposedly a Morbius and Kraven movie and they won't be in the MCU....

So what's the point? That just means those villains won't share a movie with Spider-man which is all people wanted.

They never should have made a Venom movie. He should have been in a Spider-man movie somewhere down the line.

What a waste.
