I feel like they petered out on everything, enabling future movies to answer & create more mystery forever more.
I've tried to read Wikipedia or whatever to research how things supposedly tied up, it all seems so nuanced & un-concrete.
For me, The X-Files concluded with the first film. The gov't using E.T. science for secret geopolitics or whatever to help humankind is the best worst conclusion I'll settle with.
