Time to go back to basics and bring back Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard.
Maybe use this movie to launch the new Picard series starring Stewart.
Set it in the Prime Universe after the disappearance of Leonard Nimoy's Spock, and make it a really awesome launch of the Picard series as well as a new cast of actors/characters to get the Star Trek franchise moving forward again rather than backward.
Or go back to the tradition of television-to-film Trek and have the cast be a combination of TNG, DS9, and VOY actors, with the Picard series launch still being an element of the plot.
