My first memory of Michael Caine was in ZULU.
There was a relatively unknown film back in the mid1980's that had two actors I had not seen before who later had good careers. The film was DUET FOR ONE, which was an adaptation of a two-person play. Characters were added to flesh the story out when the film was made. One was a music student played by Rupert Everett. And playing the junk-collector lover of Julie Andrews was a nameless character played by Liam Neeson.
This film seems to have disappeared, probably due to a rights issue. About the same time the film was made, the actress who starred in the original play did a British TV version and she hated the movie version, probably because she wasn't the star, but was the wife of the playwright. I have a VHS released by MGM, but I don't believe it has ever been released on DVD.
