Ginger Rogers...
As most people know, Ginger Rogers is mostly widely known for the TEN musicals she made with Fred Astaire...
But, The first Ginger Rogers movie I saw was: "A Shriek In The Night" (1933). This movie was included in one of those cheapo "50 Classic Horror Movies" DVD sets that you sometimes find in the stores, especially around the holidays. I decided to give the movie a try, and while watching the film, Ginger Rogers caught my eye, and her acting made me want to see more of her films...
Afterwards, I did watch those TEN Fred Astaire musicals... But, I have never been a fan of most musicals, and as expected, I didn't really find much about those films to enjoy... However, In My Opinion, the beautiful and talented actress, singer & dancer was one of the few highlights of those films... I can see why the studio kept casting her in the starring role, and why audiences kept buying tickets to see her films!
Thankfully, Ginger Rogers made many other films that were NOT in the Musical Genre... I have since been able to see and enjoy many of those films and I have become a huge fan...
If I had never seen the movie "A Shriek In The Night" (1933), I highly doubt, I would have ever seen any of her films, and Ginger Rogers would have never become one of my all time favorite actresses.
