The footage shows him texting or whatever while his car is stationary. That's alright, innit? No, it's not. I thought it was legal but I'm a dumbarse who is lucky not to have got collared for doing it when I was a motorist before seeing the light and going everywhere by Tube and new improved buses. I now realize that the definition of driving, as far as the law is bothered, includes the engine being switched on regardless of where you are or whether the vehicle is moving or not. Common sense really except to dumbarses like me. Salah is guilty as filmed. There must be extenuating circs, though. If you have driven to some godforsaken part of the countryside and your car is stuck in a mud bath with the wheels spinning like mad but going nowhere and you are suddenly set upon by a band of local inbreds who want to eat you for supper and are pummeling your windows trying to get at you, surely you are not breaking the law by phoning the law, although by the time the law gets there you're in a cauldron and soon served up in great wedges of what the inbreds have come to call City Boy Pie.
