1.The American - 9/10 2.True Grit - 8/10 3.Edge of Darkness 4.The Book of Eli - 7.5-8/10 -.Unthinkable -.Tron Legacy -.London Boulevard 8.Machete - 7/10 it's my #1 overall year of the current decade and I think it's within my Top 5 years (or so) straight up in overall movie quality. basically one area it shines is that it holds a higher level of movie quality before it drops below a certain point as you can see that it's got seven movies I score a 7.5-8/10 or higher (which makes those movies within my Top 105 movies straight up) which, if I look at things strictly on that fact, it would be my #1 year (i.e. as in volume of movies I score a 7.5-8/10 or higher in any given year) as only 2005/2006/2008 come close with each having six movies based on that standard which tend to score very strongly among all years in general. although I can say at least some years do top 2010 for me straight up overall (like 2005/2008 and possibly a bit more etc).
I guess it depends on how one defines 'great movie' as if one means 9/10 or 10/10 standard, then I would agree. but then again it's within my Top 56 movies straight up which makes it pretty great in my book
also, ill add this... it's definitely underrated as it's easily above it's 6.6/10 average as that movie should be a easy 7.0/10+ minimum for a average on IMDb. hell, plenty of forgettable super-hero movies score into the 7.x/10 range and they can't touch Edge of Darkness in my mind.
