What are your thoughts and opinions on "Remember The Titans"? I personally loved it, but feel the racial tension was almost non existent. Also, wasn't there a character pretty much openly gay that everyone seemed fine with? I believe that the character nicknamed "Sunshine" was named that because he came from California and sort of dressed like a hippie. But he was a damn good quarterback, he just needed a coach that would give him the focus like Denzel Washington's character did. And like Lewis (the fat guy who sung Motown songs), he hung out with the black players with ease unlike Bertier. Except Sunshine had to learn firsthand what the black players had to deal with even if lawful segregation "officially" ended. I thought the movie was okay, thought it was a part of Disney's assembly line of fact based sports movies. On that note, they had no business touching the movie Miracle based on the "Miracle on Ice". Not with the knowledge that coach Herb Brooks was a foul mouthed individual.
