In Red Dawn, the communist occupiers show Russian propaganda movies. One of several scenes in the film that are so ridiculous as to bring laughter. Which? Were they clips from actual movies or just spoofs mocked up for Red Dawn? The frontage in your picture advertises Alexander Nevsky (1938) dir: Sergei M. Eisenstein. If that is the sort of "propaganda movie" they were showing I should think it would be a progressive move for the USA. Free admission too! Sounds like Swayze made a wrong move throwing the commies out. Only the marquee is shown. I've probably recounted the time I rented Alexander Nevsky back in '88 or so. Unsure how much to charge for the rental, the counter clerk shouted over to the manager, "HEY MR THOMPSON! IS ALEXANDER NEVSKY A PORNO MOVIE?"
