My husband took me to Raiders games as I had no exposure to football. We played dodgeball & volleyball. We played tennis & baseball. I do not recall girls playing football in school at all so I was completely unaware of the rules & it just looked stupid. Run around for a minute or 2. Wait around for 10.
It basically looks like an excuse to get stupid drunk yet still be able to follow the action.

In fact, as long as there ball hasn't crossed the line of scrimmage and there wasn't a forward pass, any backfield offensive player (including the QB, running backs, and even receivers) can punt the ball on any play from scrimmage.
