I dont think you can recast characters DESIGNED for tv or film.
Because the original actors created the impression of the character.
A new Kirk or Spock will always be a knock off.
Not so with James Bond since he started as a book character.
John Rambo was originally a novel character though.
Psycho was also a book before the movie.
