The Dead Zone or The Shining?

The Dead Zone is likely closer to the novel, but The Shining is a significantly better movie imo. The Shining is one of the most frightening and interesting movies ever made as far as I'm concerned, while The Dead Zone is just an above average horror movie.

I haven't read any of Stephen King's novels.
