Name a Remake That's As Good or Better Than the Original

I hate the Evil Dead remake and I'll tell you why. Much of the reason the original is fun is because of it's cheap B-movie quality (something most horror remakes miss the point of), the effortless charisma of Bruce Campbell (Like Indiana Jones and Harrison Ford, Evil Dead isn't Evil Dead if it doesn't have Bruce Campbell), the creativity of Raimi's directing and the fact that the movie doesn't take itself too seriously.

It's all in the execution and the remake couldn't have done it any more wrong imo, not to mention the absolute pointlessness of making it in the first place. It's a very bland movie that fails to be creepy, funny or entertaining.
