I would agree if Oscars actually stood for anything. It has always been a big Hollywood circle jerk. The Academy's opinion means about as much to me as Hobo Jim's who lives on the streets opinion on a good meal. Why should anybody care what other's opinion on Quality Cinema. The Quality of something has fuck all to do what others say. Your opinion is the only one that matters, why must we validate it?

Edit: Also I'm sure there will be people who aren't racists or alt-right that bitch about it getting nominated. There will be closeted racists that try to hide the fact the reason they hate, but those 2 I won't care about. There will be the ones that can't hide it and those will be the ones I want to see rant at it.

The Oscars contains votes from 7000+ academy members who are all involved with the movie business. To say their collective opinion is worth the same as ''Hobo Jim'' is ludicrous and dishonest. You might not agree with what wins Best Picture, but a majority consensus from experts within the field does not equate to nothing of any merit.

And I am glad this award is being scrapped. Black Panther is no where near good enough to be even held in the same breath as other Oscar film calibre nominations.
