Those people clinging to the hope that Black Panther would get a best picture nom..yeah dream on. Not even race politics would get black panther a best pic nom because its NOT THAT GOOD of a movie. People argued that moonlight only won because it was about homosexuality featuring a black cast. But its actually a gripping drama with great performances and atleast deserved to be in the 10 nominated positions. Its clear that it was Oscar worthy. Black panther is not worthy. It doesnt dig deep into the politics or themes the story is trying to convey. The only "deep" scene is the round table meeting scene where the elders are discussing what should be done with Killmonger. The rest of the film is filled with junk CGI fights and simple back and forth between bad guys and good guys. Reviews and box office can back up those claims that Black Panther is a GOOD movie. And why shouldn't it be? The past couple of years movies outside the Academy's comfort zone have been nominated, like Mad Max: Fury Road, Get Out, and The Shape of Water just to name a few (and The Shape of Water recently won). But they’re all dark and gritty, so they’re all better than MCU!!! Hee hee hee...
