The OT rules in college make a lot more sense. And for the pros they used to make it a lot more dramatic by calling it "Sudden Death." Meaning first team scores no matter what or how, it's over. Now the team that didn't score gets another shot at it. Perhaps they need it to be Sudden Death again. In the NFL, if the team that receives the kickoff scores a TD on the first possession they win. If they score a field goal then the other team gets another try.
