It was an improvement over the classic 1967 film in terms of plot structure and Mowgli's character arc, although I may still favor the original. The animals and the jungle environment were rendered quite believably. Great ensemble cast of Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Lupita N'yongo, Idris Elba, and Christopher Walken. Shere Khan was an awesome villain. One big weakness was the songs. It was great to hear "Bare Necessities" again, but Neel Seethi was not great at all singing. The updated verse of "I Wanna Be Like You" comes straight from nowhere.
