There are a number of different directions you could go with that idea, but I think Rose's motive for leaving Cal, were he a decent fiancé, would have been to be explained. Otherwise, she could come off as unlikable. Also, there's the question of how will Cal react to Rose's favoring of Jake. Will Cal take a villainous turn at the sign of rejection? Will he let Rose go and move onto someone else? Mr. Dawson, it is obvious that this contest cannot be decided by our knowledge of the Force... but by our skills with a lightsaber. |
