Gone Girl having a ton of pitch black comedy aside, the plots became near identical. No they did not. Not even close. I'm not sure why you're going to such lengths to defend a movie you find "laughable". It's like you think I'm insulting Gone Girl by saying it got ripped off. It's the opposite. Anyway, here's a checklist: -turns out "missing girl" faked her disappearance -missing girl plans or actually has their "body" found in lake -missing girl attempts to frame unfaithful husband -unfaithful husband is a teacher she supports financially -husband is having an affair with student -missing girl and husband like to have kinky sex in public -missing girl mangles her face with tool to sell her charade -missing girl turns out to have a history of conniving manipulation -missing girl has bimbo friend she uses -missing girl ends up killing someone while the exact same music plays -there's a sardonic black guy on both cases -1/2 of the couple either wrote a famous book or was the subject of one -the main character of Gone girl is accused of having sex with their sibling, the main character of A Simple Favor actually did Abd probably more.
