A hypnotic, black hearted acid trip into the depths of hell.
This might’ve made a good movie if it were 80 minutes long but alas, we got a film 45 minutes too long, artsy to a fault and unforgivably boring. Nicholas Cage’s insanity is unleashed far too late in the run time and we are only graced with one truly *great* moment (the chainsaw fight). Technically impressive boasting stunning, trippy visuals but ultimately, this movie didn’t do much for me.
And Cage only does ONE bump of cocaine. I was expecting the fucker to go full on Jordan Belfort.
The biggest disappointment of 2018 thus far.
