Wow! Another one to put in the "nothing else like it" basket. Think I liked it a little more that The Katakuris. Love how it just builds and builds on the cringing awkwardness and absurdity. Sure there's a political allegory in there somewhere that I missed. Yeah, it really is something to behold. Complete, blissfull weirdness!
Don't know if you've seen 'em or not, but if you haven't I think you'd really enjoy 'Gozu' and 'Fudoh: The New Generation'.
Haven't seen those. Miike has a pretty daunting filmography and I've only really scrathed the surface. So far he's been a little hit and miss but always at least very interesting. I have two of, I'm guessing his more conventional films, 13 Assassins and Harakiri which I'm hoping to watch over the next week or so. I'd also really like to see The Bird People of China, but I'll keep those two you mention in mind.
