Even at the time, that was brought up reasonably regularly. And if it was set in Nampa, Idaho, it wouldn't have. I've been to NY a few times. Try finding a group of six friends who are all white. Probably correct. I wasn't questioning the legitimacy of the complaint, just stating that it wasn't just something that would happen now. Whether or not artists have a responsibility to reflect "the real world" is another discussion. |
