On numerous films and TV series, especially crime series, there are shots of uniformed police officers and plain-clothes detectives talking on car phones while driving.
Have there ever been instances of accidents occurring while the drivers were so distracted, on film and IRL?
In many states, there are laws against civilians talking or texting on their phones while driving.
Are there any such laws for government officials as well?
If not, there should be!
Maybe a statute requiring two in a vehicle, with one driving and the other communicating with higher-ups.
