Everyone should probably read ( or reread ) that very deceptively written article.
The Chargers value went UP from 1.53b in 2015 to 2.08b in 2016 based in part on their possible move to LA.
It then went UP ( again ) from 2.08b in 2016 to 2.28b based in part on their pending move to Inglewood.
The fact that number stayed at 2.28b in 2017 really has nothing to do with the fact that the teams value already jumped dramatically ( twice ) based on the move to LA.
