Someone has already mentioned Rosemary's Baby - 68'. This film could not be re-made effectively anyway and it would have too much of a cheese factor today. It is a product of an exceptionally skilled film-maker who gave us something that still does look modern today in its approach.
Back To The Future - 85'. This one has always been steeped in it's own era of when it was made, but the film is also about nostalgia and that has also seeped over into its presentation of the contemporary 80's setting at the time. The magic blend here was just beautiful and I doubt that could be re-captured.
David Lynch's Blue Velvet - 86' and Wild At Heart - 90'.
Basket Case - 82. How could one possibly capture the same sense of sleaze and cheapness that is actually belied by its absolute charm as well?
