People who say Eisenberg's Luthor was wrong are narrow-minded and not grasping the point.
Luthor started out as a mad scientist in the 1940s Action Comics. Because that was the world wide threat then.
He evolved into the CEO Lex, because big business was evil after the 1960s.
This was the Mark Zuckerberg version of Lex. Which would be today's biggest threat to our society. He also evolves into a mad scientist (back to his roots) by the end.
There was nothing about Leto's Joker that was right.
