but since you brought up that our tastes in movies is vastly different, I am curious... do you have a Top 100 or 200 movies or something like that type of list? ; that would probably tell me whether we are 'vastly different' or not. because you can see My Favorite Movies which contains all movies I score a 7/10 or higher as if you don't care much for those then it's pretty safe to say we are not on the same page with movies overall. but I would still be curious to see roughly a equivalent list from you or whatever you feel is solid enough to call a favorite etc.
Maybe, but his presence suits some movies well if you ask me.
he does not have much range but if you get a movie within the limited range he does have, he's got a solid enough presence if you ask me to where not many could match or beat him if they replaced him in those movies.
for some types of movies I would take Keanu over most other name actors who others around these IMDB2 forums would probably say are a "better actor".
with that said... I would say Keanu's lack of range shows up here and there but out of the movies of his I consider favorites, which is those 5-7 movies I listed in my previous post in here, The Devil's Advocate is about the only one that comes to mind where some of his scenes you can see his acting is suspect.
Please don't misinterpret this as a critique on your tastes in movies (because we all have different ones), but from reading a lot of your posts I can safely say that yours and mine are vastly different, so it's not entirely surprising we'd disagree on Keanu.

I will admit, he has been in a few good movies, but they've been good despite his presence, certainly not because of it.
