This is one of her hobby horse subjects. Wonder where she is. So looking forward to the traditional "liberry" rant !
Regional and cultural differences in the pronunciation of words is what makes speech interesting (imo) .
The different words in the same language used for the same thing in different countries can be mindboggling.
boot/ trunk Hood/bonnet etc
When it comes to idioms, the sky is the limit.
"I'll knock you up in the morning" said in the UK .. just means "I will rap on your door and wake you up for breakfast"...
other countries .. its meaning is a little different !
