Agreed. That's what I mean. This has been going on for a while. How did this trend start? Dunno. I think perhaps people are trying to find the next Christopher Nolan or something. Maybe, but he started small and grew from there. He did one indy (Following), then did a slightly bigger indy (Memento), then did a smallish mainstream (Insomnia), THEN did Batman Begins, at a point when the Batman franchise was still in doubt. All PRE MCU/DCEU. |
