Dunno. I think perhaps people are trying to find the next Christopher Nolan or something. Maybe, but he started small and grew from there. He did one indy (Following), then did a slightly bigger indy (Memento), then did a smallish mainstream (Insomnia), THEN did Batman Begins, at a point when the Batman franchise was still in doubt. All PRE MCU/DCEU. There is no mystery here. Younger Directors are cheaper than their more experienced counterparts. They're also easier to mold (come on haters, jump on it) and they lack deep indoctrination into the studio system. There are also no massive egos to contend with that could seriously interfere with long-range planning. Marvel is running an incubator, not sure why that is so hard for most to understand/accept. It's not a foreign or new concept in business or in filmmaking.
