I usually don't pay much attention to the ages of actors compared to other actors or the real-life characters, but (which means I'm going to go ahead and do it anyway), Loy was about 29 when the first Thin Man was released. If the new film went into pre-production this year, Gwyneth would be nearing 50 at the premiere. Let's just say that Meryl is another 20 years older than Paltrow.

Maybe Streep could be the mother of Nora and could enter the film during the last 10 minutes to solve the baffling murder mystery. No? OK, NO! You don't have to holler.
