Television would love it though.

Got any links Deb? I'm too lazy to google and my comp craps out on a lot of the entertainment sites, all I could see right now is from Wiki which literally just says Emma Dummont is going to be the lead character and Rob Cohen is writing and directing, but that's all they say about it or anything else.
And I dunno TV can do it just as good, sure this is the budget it was tagged with back in 2010 but $15 isn't a lot of money for a film really, you get it on a HBO or something and they can give enough of a budget to do close to what a film can for that much, plus comic series are better suited for TV due to the episodic nature of things, the problem films always face is knowing what to cut out, what to trim down and what to ignore from the comics when adapting stuff.
Also you get a HBO and the maturity, gore, nudity or language don't need to be toned down, unless were talking full on penetration in which case, ok yeah that they wont show but otherwise it's all fair game, same for Netflix of any other streaming service.
But just because a studio is behind it, which one BTW? doesn't matter unless their shooting the films back to back or at the same time, because the Dark Universe, the DCEU and Power Rangers all had their studios behind them to make over half a dozen movies before The Mummy flopped, BVS disappointed and Power Rangers bombed, also depending on the budget and size of the studio a flop let alone a bomb can kill a studio depending on their size and the budget just look at Open Road/Global Road who just filed for bankruptcy this year.
