You have it exactly, some people will say it had nothing to do with Islam. Some Republicans will say Trump did nothing wrong no matter what. Some Democrats will say Clinton (Bill or Hillary) did nothing wrong no matter what. Some people are going to say mostly everything there is that can be said. It's called "muckraking." The term came into common use when attacking established institutions and leaders became "popular," especially against big business and its advantages. The internet tries to distinguish where and by whom it is called "muckraking" or "investigative journalism." The difference should be obvious and has nothing to do with regionalism or social rank. Muckraking is what amateurs do, investigative journalism is what professionals do. It is complicated by the fact that not all people in the profession always act professionally and not all people without special training are amateurish. You'll know which is and is not muckraking when you see it. Take a look around now and I think you'll find some. If it's especially bad now it might be partly because the internet makes it so easy for amateurs to speak out. More amateurs are listening as well.
