interesting. couldn't one argue though that the drama of a '3 game gate' will sell out and pull in astronomical tv ratings as well? have we ever seen this in any of the Big 4 U.S. sports - i.e. a '3 game series'. it's very appealing. The gate sure but I don't think a 3-game series would pull in the TV ratings the way the 1-game winner take all game does. this is an intriguing take of fan of a team who's team was knocked out. I understand the player's/teams mentality - 'you take care of business and win' - if you don't you don't deserve to move on. but as a fan - I don't share this same mentality - this is a team I've followed 365/12 and invested the previous year's time following. a loss is understandable for anybody - even a division leader going up against a bottom dweller - but should a teams 98-64 record be put in jeopardy by the outcome of 1 single solitary game to advance against others who may be below them? interesting.
