Indeed. I guess if you believe in the end times and think you are going to heaven, a few hundred thousand brown heathen lives on the other side of world are of little importance! How about a compromise and simply agree that both of them sucked? While I certainly don't view 9/11 as the most horrifying event in the 21st century (Something I made abundantly clear in my post here actually proving once again you may not be paying attention for the sake of arguing), it's certainly memorable and tragic, so why get all whiney about it being someone else's pick? Of course they both 'sucked' as you so eloquently describe human tragedy! My interest is in why...what motivates someone to have that opinion There have been several 'excuses' thus far. 1. It was terrorism so that is somehow worse than other deaths ie (and I quote ) Murder murder murder in bold. 2. I am Canadian not American so if I think it is the worst my view should have more clout. 3. A sort of almost apology for not having a more specific thread title instead of the ridiculous one at the top of the page. Does that answer for you why 9/11 is this person's pick? She can have that opinion if she wants like I respect that in her religious life she chooses to be Catholic. I just wonder why she considers the events of 9/11 to be the most 'horrifying' over other events.
