Resurrect Mel Gibson's character. Give him Stallone's role. Gibson isn't box office gold again just yet, even his acclaimed Hacksaw Ridge didn't do overwhelming numbers at the B/O. To be honest I'd say he's still box office poison until further notice also I'll probably get in a disagreement but someone over this but Gibson isn't like Stallone, Arnold, or Bruce Willis meaning a large percentage of those three had mainly action movies ONLY after they were labeled as "action star". Some actors just never got that label like Gibson,Ford, Cruise. Instead they did a little bit of everything (sure one could argue that the three I mentioned did to, but not as much). Anyway I think the only way I'd watch an Expendable movie again is if The Rock or Tom Cruise helmed the future 4th film. |
