Yes, because all Americans are exactly like that. It's not like the US is a large country with countless different subcultures. We're all exactly like some random guy you met in Italy. No stereotyping there... I was joking! I didn't even say he was American lol. Fair enough. I have met a few Texans like you described, but I'm certain that not all Texans are like that, either. I had one guy in London tell me that I seemed like an interesting person, because I was an American and I wasn't fat. I did not take that as a compliment. I do get very tired of people making stereotypes about other cultures and races. It's not good.
