That she defeated his brother, something his collective brothers/sisters could not do ages ago Ares isn't Hades brother. Ares is Hades nephew. It's a little more complicated than that. Cronus and Rhea were siblings. They had Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus. So they were both Father/Mother and Uncle/Aunt to them. This made Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus both siblings and 1st cousins. Now Zeus and Hera had Angelos, Ares, Eileithyia, Enyo, Eris, Hebe, and Hephaestus. Making Zeus and Hera both mother and father to Ares, Uncle and Aunt, and 1st Cousins once removed. This would make Hades relationship to Ares: Uncle/Nephew on both sides (a double Uncle/Nephew) and 1st cousins once removed. The 1st cousin once removed is the same if you go down the tree (Hades to Ares) or up it (Ares to Hades). Edit: It's actually more complicated than that. As Cronus and Rhea's parents Uranus and Gaia were related. Gaia gave birth to Uranus without the need of a father. Then they had kids together Cronus and Rhea. Seeing how I don't know how and the hell you determine the relationship of someone spontanously giving birth without the need of a father it gets so hard to determine I left it out.
