Wal Mart sells a nice portable shop vac for about $40. I use mine in the garage and suck up those house fly critters while they are alive. The suction on the shop vac is such that the critters cannot resist if you get the suction wand in their general area.
And if I were you, don't use your house vac for flying insects. A shop vav is the way to go...!!!
