First off, loved the trailer. Even with it being 5mins long, I feel like it left me wanting more and also didn't tell me too much. Really loved the music (felt a little TRON LEGACY sounding in a couple places, but that isn't a bad thing), got a chuckle out of the (intentional or not) reference for THE FIFTH ELEMENT, and I really liked what we saw of everyone around Arthur/Aquaman.
Highlights, for me, include:
-Finally seeing Dolph L's character (nice hair, looks like the Atlantian version of King Fergus from BRAVE)
-Seeing Nicole K wielding a trident to kick butt in her human hubby's living room (I'm guessing that's the thing that happens, that makes her leave Arthur behind and return to the sea)
-Seeing the two sides lining up for an undersea battle
-The joke about "show off, I could have just peed on it", because honestly- this is what a normal person might think to do rather than show off magic powers
-The chase sequence
-Getting the old truck away from the tidal wave
-Seeing the old King of Atlantis standing before what looked like an above-ground kingdom for some kind of rally/speech/ceremony
-The glimpse of a battle between guys in black mechanical gear with red pulses and the Atlantian forces
-The turtle ship going through the underwater city
-The intro where he talks about his parents
-His dad looking at him, all proud papa, and telling him, "You're mother always knew you'd be special"
Questions I now have:
-What became of Queen A/Nicole K's character? Did she go back to the sea, marry the dude she was supposed to marry in the first place by Atlantian law/custom, have her blond son, and take off again? Did she die? Was there a battle she died fighting in? Did her blond son knock her off for her crown?
-How did Queen A. come to raise the red head chic, exactly? Did she know the girl's parents and take her in, or was it more like how Odin found Loki and then took the kid home?
-Will Arthur's dad make it through the movie, or is he going to go the way of Uncle Ben & Bruce Wayne's parents?
-Does this movie take place before/after JUSTICE LEAGUE for the bulk of the action?
-Why exactly did the Atlantians and the Amazons end up at war? Will that be mentioned?
-Who is the guy with the trident in the hologram? What happened to him/kingdom to send Atlantis to the bottom (I know, it has something to do with the war with the Amazons- but I want more info) and why that kingdom in the flashbacks seems gone?
